This 2008 monster, nicknamed “King of the Road”, was released as a limited edition model. No convertibles were produced, and it put up numbers unlike any other production Mustang to date.

The most horsepower produced in any factory model, and this car produced top speeds and 0-60 times better than any model as well.

As this was a limited-edition build, there were very few produced and these cars make a very exclusive group. Also, there were no convertible cars produced.

As you may notice, there were no solid color vehicles produced, and there were just over  1,000 cars manufactured. Also, these cars came stock with 18 x 9.5 inch Shelby aluminum wheels and looks absolutely gorgeous in any color!

A little shy of the previous production numbers (2004), but nearly 11,000 units is still a significant line.

Since this was the last SVT spec post (maybe?!), the next line will be Shelby or GT Mustangs to spec out. We can’t stop, right?!

After the injustice of our original 2004 Cobra spec post, we decided to do it how we know we could: The right way. Not surprisingly, the 2004 Cobra was just as beastly as the 2003. The 2004 had three new paint colors: Screaming Yellow, Competition Orange, and Mystichrome. We aren’t exactly sure what it is, but this car makes magic happen.

Compared to 2003, with production exceeding 13,000 units, this was a large decrease.

Sadly enough, the only remaining SVT Cobra spec post is 2007.

After halting production on the 2002 in the United States (2002 Cobra information), Ford came back VERY strong with the 2003 Mustang Cobra. This car, nicknamed ‘The Terminator’, produces power unlike any other Mustang to date. Coming from the factory with an Eaton supercharger, even the stock 2003 Cobra screams like a whining baby. You can judge whether or not that’s good.

Obviously not as powerful as the Cobra R, but these numbers are still attractive.

0-60 MPH: 4.5 seconds

Cutting nearly an entire second off the 0-60 time and increasing the top speed north of 160MPH makes this model by far, the most powerful factory Cobra to date.

Sorry to upset you, but there is very little information to be told about the 2002 Mustang Cobra. In the United States, the 2002 was not released for sale. However, about 100 of these monsters were built and shipped to Australia. Since they were shipped to Australia, additional lights were added in the grill (lower bumper) and the steering wheel was moved to the right side of the car.

We received a few complaints about the injustice of the 2004 Mustang Cobra Specs post (please forgive, we weren’t sure how to layout the site at that point in time!), so be prepared for a great combination of details with our 2003 and 2004 posts that are coming up!

While there was no production of the SVT Cobra in 2000, the model returns in 2001! Not a massive power machine, but this model still produced impressive numbers. A few other notable changes on this model were the addition of 5 exterior colors. People love options, and that’s what they get with this model!

While the Cobra R ran just shy of 5, the 2001 Cobra comes in about a half-second slower.

No Mustang Cobra in 2000? That is correct, but there is a Mustang Cobra R! This model produced some absolutely amazing numbers, and was in fact the fastest factory Mustang ever produced by Ford! Raising the bar? We think so.

As we said earlier, this was the fastest Cobra yet (factory) and the numbers are intense. Just shy of 400HP was unheard of in 2000.

Top Speed: 170 MPH
0-60 MPH: 4.9 seconds

Another 20 MPH to the top speed and half a second shaved off the 0-60 time. A stock car running sub-5s… Intense!

Minor power improvements over the 1998 Cobra, but there usually aren’t many drastic power improvements year over year.

0-60 MPH: 5.4 seconds

The ’99 is running 0-60 half a second faster than the 1998. Nearly a 10% improvement on the 0-60 time is incredible.

1999 SVT Mustang Cobra Production Information

It’s always interesting to see how many of each color were produced.

This is a unique version of SVT Specs because before the ‘Terminator‘ was released, the ’98 was our favorite Cobra. We loved the small changes from the 1997 model, it was still very powerful, and the 4.6 V8 is a solid motor. Now that the 2004 SVT Cobra is out, it’s our favorite… by far!

Ironically enough, not one figure changed as far as the general specs go. The main changes from the 1997 to the 1998 model were on the body of the car.

Again, the 1998 model ran exact same numbers for top speed and acceleration time. Did Ford drop the exact same engine into this model?!
