Here’s another Mustang Specs post. Take a look at the previous spec posts if you haven’t already. These specs were pulled from the Ford Performance Group website, which lists information about any Ford vehicles (Lightning, Mustang Cobras, Taurus SHO, etc).

1999 Mustang Cobra Specs

Engine Type: V8
Horsepower: 320 @ 6000 RPM
Compression: 9.85:1
Displacement: 4.6L/280 CID
Torque: 317 ft/lbs @ 4750 RPM

Minor power improvements over the 1998 Cobra, but there usually aren’t many drastic power improvements year over year.

Top Speed: 152 MPH
0-60 MPH: 5.4 seconds

The ’99 is running 0-60 half a second faster than the 1998. Nearly a 10% improvement on the 0-60 time is incredible.

It’s always interesting to see how many of each color were produced.

COUPE:
Black: 1,619
Red: 1,292
White: 794
Green: 408

CONVERTIBLE:
Black: 1,755
Red: 1,251
White: 731
Green: 318

TOTAL: 8,168

The coupe-to-convertible ratio was almost identical (4,113 coupes to 4,055 convertibles).
